WBEZ’s Off-Air Event Series extends your listening experience to nights on the town – come see what you’ve been hearing and celebrate Chicago! Each month promises to be different and something not to miss—with discounted tickets for WBEZ members.

Sound Opinions hosts Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot – two of the finest and best-recognized pop music writers in the nation – sit down with living legends from all three of Chicago’s musical movements of the 1980s including Chris Connelly (Revolting Cocks, Ministry), ‘Godfather of House’ DJ Frankie Knuckles, and guitarist Santiago Durango (Naked Raygun, Big Black), to explore the music and politics of the decade. To discover more about the fantastic program that is Sound Opinions, click here.

Presented in conjunction with the MCA exhibition “This Will Have Been: Art, Love & Politics in the 1980s” – complimentary tours of the exhibition will be available following the event.
“This Will Have Been: Art, Love & Politics in the 1980s”
The art produced during the 1980s veered between radical and conservative, capricious and political, socially engaged and art historically aware. “This Will Have Been: Art, Love & Politics in the 1980s” provides viewers with an overview of the artistic production of these heady days, as well as impart the decade’s sense of political and aesthetic urgency by placing many of the decade’s competing factions in close proximity to one another.  On exhibition from February 11 – June 3, 2012.
When: Tuesday, March 6th @ 6:00pm
Where: Museum of Contemporary Art @ 220 E Chicago Ave Chicago, IL 60611
