A Room of Their Own: Decorating Ideas that Dazzle

Love is in the air this month — and there is no one more special to share your love with than your little ones.  At Twinkle Twinkle Little One, we love finding creative ways of making your children fall in love with their bedroom.

Here are a few of our favorite ways to make this happen:

• Create a cozy corner with a custom fabric pouf in any pattern you can dream up, and get your kids involved in choosing the fabric.  It’s a wonderful way of adding warmth to their room and creating a special area to read, play, and dream.

• Hang a piece of art that expresses the love you have for your child so she always knows how you feel, whether you are near or far.  Here are a few of my favorite art pieces that are sure to make your heart skip a beat: “You Are My Sunshine” and “Every Day I Love You” reclaimed wood art prints, “LOVE YOU” engraved sign, and the oh-so-special love letter engraved sign.  In my son’s room hangs the “Every Day I Love You” art print, and we love reading it to each other every morning and night.  In my daughter’s room the “LOVE YOU” engraved sign says it all.

• Throw in one of the large truffle plush animals from Jellycat.  Our favorites this season are the red truffle elephant and pink truffle pig.  They are so cuddly and soft and can be used as a play mat or a pillow and will soon be your child’s favorite companion.

• Find a favorite family photo and frame it in one of our gorgeous wall frames to be hung in your child’s room.  A family picture will make your little ones feel safe, secure, and loved.  You can do just one or a grouping of a few.  Either way, the room will look great and your child will feel full of love.
