Square Roots Festival
The Old Town School of Folk Music and the Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce present “Square Roots,” the first ever craft beer and music experience in Chicago’s Lincoln Square.
Together we’re kicking the summer festival season up a notch and tapping into all that Lincoln Square has to offer. We are bringing more than 35 acts including music, dance parties, jams and family activities. We’ll present an eclectic and vibrant mix of performers, from local indie rockers to world music stars. Square Roots will feature the best local and regional craft breweries with a wide variety of beers. Lincoln Square restaurants will also be featured at Square Roots.
When: July 20th — 22nd, 2012
- Friday, July 20th, 5:00 – 10:00PM
- Saturday, July 21st, 12:00 – 10:00PM
- Sunday, July 22, 12:00 – 8:00PM
Where: The festival will take place on Lincoln Avenue, between Montrose and Wilson.
Suggested donation: $10 Adults; $5 Seniors over 65 and Children under 12
Sing-A-Long Mary Poppins, Presented by the Music Box Theatre
A spoonful of sugar this summer!
The classic film with on-screen lyrics so that everyone can sing along! The screening will include interactive fun packs to be used during the film! Break out your best Chimney Sweep costume for the pre-show Costume Contest! Fun for the whole family!

Anyone is welcome to attend, however BCB New Mom Brunches are designed for moms with babies under one. Babies are of course welcome to attend—in fact we encourage it as it is great practice for “dining out” with your baby in tow! Limited high chairs are available, please make sure to bring your carriers, infant seats and strollers—we will have ample room!

Family Workshop: Stories & Songs with Shana Harvey
Sundays, June 24, July 22 and Aug. 19, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Enjoy a morning filled with nature-based stories, music and movement with your little ones! Chicago-based teacher and singer/songwriter Shana Harvey will lead you and your child in an interactive sing-along with folk songs from all over the world. Snacks, blankets and music-makers are welcome! Children must be accompanied by an adult and pre-registration is required. Note: Children must be at least 6 years old and accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required.

Sunday Grilling Series, presented by Publican Quality Meats
Sunday Grilling Series
Each Sunday our chefs and the visiting chef will each create two dishes off the grill, as well as a grill friendly dessert. We will be offering a featured cocktail and the visiting chef gets to choose a shot for the evening. A seafood option as well as a vegetarian dish will be available, so don’t stay away on that account.
This unique menu will only be available from 3:00pm until 8:00pm each Sunday.
