Work from Home Kick-off breakfast meeting @ Uncommon Ground – Clark Street, presented by NPN
NPN tells us…
Join us for our very first meeting of our newly formed group, Work from Home group, chaired by NPN’s own work-from-home mothers Sarah Wenning and Amanda O’Brien. Our group targets both mothers and fathers who work from home and thus don’t have the socializing opportunities of those who work with others in an office. Please join us after dropping the children off for coffee/breakfast or just a nosh as we get to know others who are also home based and juggling work and family.

Address: 3800 N. Clark Street Chicago, 60613
Time: 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM
Who: Members & Non-members – Adults only
Parking: Metered street parking on Clark, side street parking on Grace.
Cost: Everyone pays for their own food. Breakfast typically varies from $10-15.

Picnic in the Park @ Pfc Milton Olive Park, presented by NPN
NPN tells us…
Calling all moms and kids of any age for a picnic in the park. We will meet at the pergola on the northeast corner of Grand and Lake Shore Dr. (you can see it on your right as you are leaving Navy Pier). It is technically Pfc Milton Olive Park, according to Google Maps. Bring a blanket and a lunch for you and your little ones. We will be in the grassy, shaded area.
You will receive an email closer to July 16th with a more detailed description of how to find the group. Hope to see you there!
***Note*** Some people have mentioned they were unable to find us last time. We are not down at the beach. We are actually in a grassy area just south of the beach. If you were to go under LSD at Ohio St. (where the ramp and stairs go under the road), we will be directly in front of you as you come out from the tunnel. It’s where all of the bike paths collide.
Location: Pfc Milton Olive Park
Address: 500 N. Lake Shore Dr.
Chicago, 60611
Time: 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Who: Members & Non-Members – Children welcome
Parking: Hopefully you can walk to the location. If not, there is parking available at Navy Pier and some street parking.
Cost: Free
Coordinator: Mary McGraw

That’s Weird, Grandma, presented by Barrel of Monkeys
Barrel of Monkeys tells us …
WHEN: Mondays at 8pm
WHERE: The Neo-Futurist Theater, 5153 N. Ashland (directions)
TICKETS: $5 for kids, $10 for adults
Reservations may also be made by calling our reservation line: 312-409-1954.
Join us for our 10th year of Barrel of Monkeys’ critically acclaimed smashing hit.
“Every story that you see as written by a child (uh huh). And every child was taught by the Barrel of Monkeys (well well). First we take the stories and perform them in the schools. Afterwards we share them with the world (you are the world).”
So sings the opening song of “That’s Weird, Grandma”—our Monday night public performance where we showcase the amazing talents of our student authors and our company of performers. After teaching creative writing residencies at Chicago Public Schools and working with students to generate literally thousands of creative stories, we have a gigantic repertoire of material to share with you!
