Taste of Chicago: “ is the nation’s premier outdoor food festival showcasing the diversity of Chicago’s dining community. The delicious array of food served at Taste of Chicago is complemented by music and exciting activities for the entire family. Every summer since 1980, Chicago’s beautiful Grant Park on the city’s magnificent lakefront has been home to the world’s largest food festival.”

Free, free, free! Food and beverage tickets are sold in strips of 12 tickets for $8 (includes $2 charge for Taste amenities). Purchase tickets for Petrillo Music Shell concert seat tickets here.
Restaurants
“Menu items will include such varieties as Tortilla Encrusted Tiliapia Taco from Carbon, Jolloff Rice with Sauteed Goat from Vee-Vee’s African Cuisine and Deep Fried Chinese Bread from Lao Sze Chuan.”
Pop-Up Restaurants
“15 restaurants will participate as Pop-Up restaurants at the 2012 Taste of Chicago.”
Petrillo Music Shell Concerts
The 2012 Taste lineup includes Grammy Award-winning recording artist, Jennifer Hudson, indie-rock band Death Cab for Cutie, Dierks Bentley, and the legendary soul-soothing Chaka Khan.
Bud Light Stage
“The Bud Light Stage will feature the Waco Brothers (above), Mucca Pazza, Robbie Fulks, Las Guitarras de Espana, The 92s and more.”
Celebrity Chef du Jour
“A $40 pre-paid ticket will allow attendees to enjoy “Celebrity Chef du Jour” where each day a noted chef will prepare a three-course meal and mingle with the guests.”
Dominick’s Cooking Corner
“This Chef Demonstration tent showcases local and national chefs as they demonstrate specialties that have made them culinary celebrities. Highlights include Aaron Sanchez, Mark DeCarlo, Mindy Segal and Sarah Grueneberg.”
Humana Race to Taste
“Ready…set…race! The 20th Annual Race to Taste 5K Run/2-Mile Walk will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012.”
Fleet Feet Sports Kid’s Dash
“The Fleet Feet Sports Kids’ Dash will take place in Butler Field on Saturday, July 14th.”
