Chicago History Museum: “Discover Chicago with the Radio Disney Road Crew on the second Saturday of each month. Explore the Great Chicago Fire, the city’s landmarks, and Blues music through fun, creative activities that engage the whole family. While you’re here, tour the Museum using a special kid’s activity guide, and make-and-take a craft. Performances begin at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. and are forty minutes in length.

Second Saturdays turns magical in June to celebrate the opening of the new exhibition Magic with magic themed crafts, songs, games and a performance from a local teen magician at 12:00 and 2:00 p.m.

Guests can enjoy the following activities that make learning Chicago history fun:

Learn to dance like a real Chicagoan!

Dance to “Celebration” with Chicago-style moves such as shooting hoops like Derrick Rose or tossing a pizza.

Learn about the Great Chicago Fire while relay racing!

Learn why people fighting the fire had to form a “Bucket Brigade.” Join in a relay race to form your very own brigade and to put out an imaginary fire.

Create a One-of-a-Kind Blues Song!

Chicago is home to Blues music. Grown-ups and kids can take part in creating an original song. Participants will debut the song complete with fedoras and sunglasses. The liveliest performance wins a prize!

Chicago Word Scramble!

Test your spelling skills! Each participant will receive a letter and they’ll work with their team to unscramble their letters to form a word famously associated with Chicago.

Guess the Landmark!

Discover Chicago’s greatest landmarks! Photos of famous attractions will be distributed to the audience. With mom and dad’s help, little ones can raise their photos if it matches the description. ”

When: July 14 & August 11, 2o12 @ 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Each performance is 40min long.

Where: Chicago History Museum @ 1601 North Clark Street
