Ravenswood Remix tells us …

September 1 & 2, 2012

Remix, Rethink, & Recycle!

The average American produces an average of 4.3 pounds of trash every single day. It’s no wonder the past 20 years have awakened a surge in recycling!

Chicago’s newest art event — Ravenswood Remix™ — is more than simply a festival celebrating recycled art: we’re inspiring the entire community to Remix, Rethink, and Recycle!

By taking used or recycled goods and creating original, handmade art, clothing, household items, jewelry, paper objects, collectibles and other crafts, artists are changing the way communities think about the value of recyclables. Ravenswood Remix™ provides a platform for artists who think outside the margins and want a place to display and sell their handmade goods.

Ravenswood Remix is Chicago’s first festival featuring art that’s drawn from outside the margins: A refreshing remix of indie, intuitive, folk and craft art made from recycled and found materials. The two-day event, which benefits local school art programs, features workshops and education for people of all ages. With the work many eclectic artists, great music, food from forward-thinking restaurants, and refreshing beverages, it’s the best way to cap off your summer fun.

  • Exciting live music, featuring local, independent artists
  • Eclectic local artists using recycled materials
  • 12 workshops
