Never heard of the Edible Gardens? Here’s what the founder has to say:
“Located in Lincoln Park Zoo’s Farm-in-the-Zoo, the Edible Gardens are designed to engage children with hands-on growing, weeding, compost making and harvesting, and introduce them to the concept of “farm-to-table”. Programs are also available for school and summer camp field trips. The Gardens are supervised and planted by Jeanne Pinsof, Green City Market’s Organic Gardener. From April through mid-November, the Edible Garden is open to all, weather permitting, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10:00am – 1:00pm.”
