Musical Mayhem

Very Special Promenades and CSO Family Matinee series

Saturday February 4, 2012
When a rag-tag group of clowns, portrayed by actors from Lookingglass Theatre Company, interrupts a performance of “serious” classical music to present their own show, the clever conductor comes up with a compromise that allows both the clowns and the orchestra to perform together. The antics of the ridiculous clown troupe, punctuated by dazzling circus skills like juggling and tumbling, help to amplify the extraordinary artistry of the Orchestra performing Stravinsky’s delightful Suite from Pulcinella. Free preconcert activities begin one hour before each performance. Recommended for families with children ages 5–9.
