This show is sponsored by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office (OCAO) of the State Council of the Peoples Republic of China and the China Oversea Exchanges Association (COEA), and organized by the Greater Chicago Chinese Committee of the Cultures of China, Festival of Spring, which is composed of more than 60 greater Chicago Chinese organizations including family associations, art groups, Chinese language schools, and alumni associations.

The Cultures of China, Festival of Spring performances have been invited to more than 10 major countries during the Chinese lunar New Year season in the past years and have received numerous recognitions and compliments not only from the overseas Chinese community, but also from the mainstream society all over the world.
Performers: led by the internationally known Beijing Opera singer: Kuizhi Yu and the famous male singers Jihong Lei and Hongwei Wang, plus many other first class Chinese professional singers, and dancers.

Key Performers:

Kuizhi Yu is the deputy president and the art director of China National Peking Opera Company. He is ranked as the number one �eLao Sheng�f�ielder actor) of Peking Opera. His representative performances include: Loss of Jie Ting, Empty City, Kill Ma Su, Wu Zixu and Si Lang Visits His Mother, among others.

Chi Yang is the President of Dalian Peking Opera Theater. He is the outstanding successor of the Yuan Style Performance of Peking Opera, and also the winner of the Plum Performance Award, which is the top Chinese national dramatic award.
His representative performances include Farewell My Concubine and Black Whirlwind Li Kui, among others.

Shengsu Li is the main actress in the China National Peking Opera Company. Her distinguished performances have won her the title of successor to Mei Lanfang, who was the most famous Peking Opera master in China. Her representative performances include Farewell My Concubine, The Legend of White Snake, The Drunken Beauty, Si Lang Visits His Mother, among others.

Jun Yang is a famous Huang-mei Opera artist, named one of the �eFive Golden Flowers�f of the Huang-mei Opera. She is also the winner of the Plum Performance Award. Her representative performances are Goddess Marriage and Female Consort Prince.

Jihong Lei is a famous tenor of Chinese folk music who is highly recognized by the Chinese and overseas Chinese audiences. His representative works are Farewell the Dabie Mountain and The Love of My Hometown, among others.

Wei Lu is a famous soloist of Chinese folk music and has won many artist awards. She is also a nationwide famous singer in China whose representative albums include: The Red China and Spring to Spring, among others.

Hongwei Wang is a well-known tenor of Chinese folk music, especially Chinese western folk music. Thanks to his amazing treble, he has won praise as The King of Western Romantic Songs. His representative works include: The Song of the West, Thousand miles away from Hometown, and My Love for China.

Liyan Zhong is a famous youth soloist and Mezzo Soprano. Based on her recent excellent performances, she is praised as the most promising mezzo-soprano in China.

Tieli Liu is an outstanding young Baritone singer and is a rising star.

A Lu A Zhuo is a famous soloist of Chinese pop music who is from the Chinese minority of Yi. Her singing combines both modern elements and Yi�fs regional style. She has won The Golden Bell Award, which is the top national musical award. Her representative and first well-known work is This is My Destiny to Meet You.

Hubei Youth Troupe was established in 1982. During the past 30 years, this troupe has conducted more than 3000 distinguished dance performances. These outstanding works have won the troupe nationwide awards and ranked the troupe as one of the best in Hubei Province.
